Bronze Warthog Sculptures and Bronze Meerkat Sculptures – more than just Africa’s light relief.

A little bit ugly, but packed full with character, the humble warthog has been the surprise hit of Jonathan Sanders’s bronze sculpture collection.

Everyone we have spoken to (including us, actually) who has been on safari and seen these charismatic creatures in the flesh have strong and very fond memories of watching them trot jauntily along a track before disappering into the bush with their tails held aloft.

Jonathan Sanders’s Warthog Family sold out of edition swiftly and we received the more impassioned thank you notes from lucky recipients who had received these as gifts than for any other subject.  Many were bought for families with three children and requests soon began to flood from families with fewer offspring.

In February 2014 we were pleased to unveil two parents and one baby – Warthog and Baby and Seated Warthog and February 2015 saw the release of the long awaited family of four warthogs – Warthog Parade.

When Jonathan Sanders decided to sculpt meerkats in 2010, he was keen to continue to use his usual style and to avoid heading into a cute style that is often applied to the subject.

His family of six meerkats were launched and have proved popular with collectors ever since.

Cheeky, playful and energetic, meerkats make the most gorgeous subject of a sculpture and Jonathan Sanders has caught them in a variety of poses from the highly alert to the downright lazy.  Each sculpture looks lovely when displayed in its own right, or as part of either a small or large family.
