Solid bronze hare sculpture, with free delivery worldwide – limited edition of 250. ‘Alert Hare III’, is a beautiful solid foundry bronze Nelson and Forbes casting of an original sculpture by Sue Maclaurin.

We cast this sculpture entirely by hand in a British foundry, each casting takes over two weeks to create.

This bronze casting is a perfect recreation of the artist’s original wax. It bears the artist’s signature and its own unique edition number.

It was created using the ancient art of lost wax casting bronze, during which a new mould was made for each casting, before the new mould was subsequently destroyed. As a result, each casting of Alert Hare III is unique and so individually numbered as one of a limited edition of just 250 castings worldwide.

Alert Hare III is the newest addition to Sue Maclaurin’s ever popular collection of hares. It follows her sold out Alert Hare and Alert Hare II.

Alert Hare III arrives elegantly presented in a quality handmade gift box, created by our box maker in the Midlands, making a wonderful gift – all you have to do is add a bow! It arrives accompanied by a certificate of authenticity, individually printed by hand from an original copper plate engraving in Hampshire, before being signed by the artist and numbered with the edition number of this casting. The edition number and certificate of authenticity are your guarantee that this is an original Nelson & Forbes foundry casting of the sculptor’s work that she has personally approved.

Please note that as with all Nelson & Forbes sculpture, this is NOT made of resin/cold cast bronze. Instead it is made of real, solid, foundry bronze metal.
